Viv Ramirez

Born in the “Philippines” and raised in “Richmond”—a little city near so-called “Vancouver”. I'm an artist with an immense passion for the sky. You might catch me getting all poetic about my deep love for bread, or cozying up with my adorable German shepherd/husky pup.

I'm endlessly thankful for the remarkable efforts of those who came before me, which paved the way for me to enjoy a life quite different from where my family's journey began. I'm actively learning about decolonization and my role as an immigrant settler on Indigenous lands. My aspiration is to assist others in their healing journey, contributing to our collective well-being through my art and tattoo practice.

With lattefortea, I aim to play my part in the ongoing liberation and empowerment of all my neighbors, with a special focus on Indigenous folks, trans individuals, racialized communities, those with disabilities, survivors of gender-based violence, and anyone who bears the weight of intersectionality's challenges. Tattoos have a long history, once stigmatized by Western ideals despite being celebrated in pre-colonial cultures. I believe in using tattoos as a tool for self-empowerment, self-discovery, and reclaiming our bodies from oppressive structures. We all deserve the right to choose the markings that adorn our bodies.

Tattoos hold immense power and potential for healing, and I'm here to support you on your journey.
